Tighter Muscles - Mass Redistribution

I feel chest and abdominal muscles tightening up.  Perhaps the leg muscles are showing the efforts of my 5 mile/day walking, but they've long been strong because of my girth.  I'm unlikely to feel the difference as much as the redistribution of flab.

The steps of a good man...

As I was walking this afternoon between the Harvard Medical School building where I work to the mailroom at the Harvard School of Public Health - enjoying how many of my daily 10,000 steps (about 5 miles), I heard someone whisper out: "The steps of a good man of a good man are ordered by the Lord."

Where did THAT come from?  I looked, I laughed a little, and I continued on thinking repeatedly about the citation from Psalm 37:23.

Just a few steps short of 300 steps later, here I am tell you about it.

On my 5-mile walk today (10,000 steps is about 5 miles), I began to realize that when I'm walking (if I have enough water around), I'd not doing with my stomach what would ordinarily motivate me to eat.  My abdominal muscles are happily exercising rather than being stimulated by the introduction of food.

Quick!  Hydrate!  Walk on!
